Inspiration for you waste-not-want-notters and possibly your other half’s worst nightmare: a set of 110-year-old condoms fashioned from the swim bladders of fish are up for auction in Vienna on 11th November.
“Delightfully, they seem to have been meant to be reusable, as evidenced by the former owner’s careful tally of how many times each condom had been used. It looks as though you were only supposed to reuse 10 times”
Cue frantic raising of stakes in gutting-room banter if this recycling exercise makes a comeback: “Both from 10lb rainbows and they’re yours if you want ’em. Personally, unless we’re talking tarpon, I find them a little snug…”
