Along with everyone else who works on my company’s fishing titles, I am committed to erasing fishing snobbery.
All types of angling boast their challenges, triumphs and moments of inner richness and are to be celebrated equally.
Furthermore, I fervently reject the notion that flyfishing has any monopoly over images such as this.

In the daily quest for fly fishing stories, all sorts of news leads are thrown up that fairly burst with promise, until you click on them.
You can imagine my excitement at Trout lands fight on television, for example.
Alas, Austin Trout is a boxer.

Much as he'd like the credit for this play on the famous last words in A River Runs Through It, the real hero is Hannah Nordhaus, who coined the phrase in an article on her first try at flyfishing, for Rocky Mountain News. This blog is dedicated to her. The good bits, anyway.
